    What you'll do

    Blake Street House Baristas play an integral role in creating strong rapport and developing memorable experiences for our guests. Baristas prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages, along with pre-prepared food items, to members at BlakeSt. Baristas provide fast, friendly, and accurate service in a clean and organized environment. Our ideal candidate will be available to work days, nights and weekends.

    Compensation: $2.63, plus tips. Guaranteed $19.00 per hour.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare a variety of beverages (espresso drinks, tea, smoothies, etc.) according to recipes.
    • Serve pre-prepared food items, maintaining proper display and rotation.
    • Greet all members.
    • Take orders and process payments using Toast POS.
    • Inquire about dietary restrictions.
    • Maintain cleanliness of counter, tables, and lounge areas.
    • Restock supplies and assist with inventory.
    • Receive and verify alcohol deliveries.
    • Follow opening and closing checklists.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, checking in on hot food orders from the kitchen.
    • Handle member concerns, involving management when necessary.
    • Adhere to uniform standards and follow all BlakeSt policies and procedures.
    • Self-manage. Follow attendance policy, clock in/out appropriately, adhere to dress code, be proactive in accomplishing duties, adhere to Company policies and procedures.
    • All other duties as assigned

    What You Need to Get the Job Done (Minimum Qualifications)

    • Must be 21 years or older.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
    • Must have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to multitask while being detail oriented.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; walks and stands during entire shift.
    • Basic computer, reading and mathematical skills.
    • Professional and calm demeanor under pressure, and treat others with respect.
    • Flexible schedule; night and weekend work may be required.

    Employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background check.

    What Will Make Us Really Love you (Preferred Qualifications)

    • 2+ years’ experience in a high-volume establishment.
    • Knowledge of inventory tracking and ordering processes.
    • Initiative to enhance your knowledge of cocktail and coffee menu options and presentation techniques.
    • Willingness contribute new drink recipes or suggestions.
    • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, workplace safety procedures.
