Summary of Position:
Interact and engage with our guests with the express goal of selling food and beverages while providing exceptional service. By attentively engaging with guests, bartenders will become acutely aware of the guests’ needs and desires, which will be matched to our offerings. Bartenders will be expected to perform all the functions of a Server with the addition of providing beverage service to the guests at the bar, as well as to the servers and guests on the dining room floor. Bartenders must possess the ability to make cocktails, pour wine and beer, and serve guests simultaneously.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow all JTR Group policies and procedures
Prepare the bar for service by manicuring bar top, sweeping, washing and polishing wares, etc.
Learn names of guests and personally recognize regulars
Greet guests quickly and with a smile, addressing them by name
Engage guests about who we are and what we offer
Provide guests with information regarding food and beverages
Take orders efficiently and accurately, and record orders accurately and immediately in the POS system
Suggestively sell items the guest may be interested in or that we are actively promoting
Prepare and serve quality beverages consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes accurately and efficiently
Ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, shelves, sinks, utensils, and storage areas
Drop off items as they become ready and check back to ensure guest satisfaction during their meal
Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Bar Manager
Complete all side work tasks prescribed by Manager on Duty
Qualifications:
Be 21 years of age or older
Be able to communicate respectfully and honestly with others, including all staff
Have knowledge of service, food, and beverage with at least 3 years of experience in front of house operations (or 1 year of bartending experience)
Have a solid command of all products behind the bar and how they are utilized
Be able to recognize the effects of alcohol on guests and respond accordingly
Have a valid THD Food handler’s License and comply with all THD regulations
Have a valid ABLE Commission LBW license and comply with all ABLE laws
Have POS experience and be able to do basic math calculations
Have the ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time, up to 6 hours
