    Job Summary: Bartenders are responsible for creating and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with bar guests in a friendly and professional manner that builds regular business, and overseeing the operations of the restaurant in the absence of the Bar Manager. Bartenders must be capable of working as a part of a team, maintaining a clean workspace, completing sidework as assigned, adhere to all safety standards, and attend any required meetings and trainings.

    Responsibilities:

    As a Bartender:

    Create and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.

    Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and personalized service to enhance their experience.

    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

    Prepare garnishes, syrups, and other ingredients for cocktails, ensuring freshness and quality at all times.

    Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit card transactions, and maintaining and organized and accurate cash drawer.

    Stay informed about current beverage trends, new products, and promotions to provide guests with up-to-date information and recommendations.

    Collaborate with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.

    Adhere to responsible alcohol service practices, including monitoring guest alcohol consumption and preventing underage drinking.

    Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar area, cleaning glassware, and restocking supplies.

    Monitor the dining area and anticipate guest needs, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and courteously.

    Collaborate with other team members to uphold standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction throughout the restaurant.

    Stay informed about restaurant policies, procedures, events, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests.

    Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and taking reservations.

    Adhere to all company policies, including uniform standards, attendance, and punctuality.

    As a Manager on Duty:

    Assume responsibility for the overall operation of the restaurant during designated shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.

    Supervise and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff, providing guidance, feedback, and assistance as needed to maintain high standards of service.

    Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and empathy, revolving issues promptly and effectively, and escalating to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager as needed.

    Monitor restaurant flow, including seating arrangements, wait times, and service flow, and adjust as necessary to optimize guest satisfaction.

    Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, promotions, and service expectations to staff, fostering a cohesive and motivated team environment.

    Manage reservations and table assignments, ensuring efficient use of available tables and timely accommodation of guest requests.

    Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures as needed.

    Requirements:

    Previous experience as a bartender in a high-volume restaurant or bar setting.

    Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage service standards.

    Leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.

    Obtain and maintain a valid State Alcohol Certificate through Responsible Beverage Service Training Nebraska. You must present evidence of a valid certificate before or on your first day of employment.

    Obtain and maintain a valid City Alcohol Permit through Responsible Beverage Service Training Nebraska. You must present evidence of a valid permit before or on your first day of employment.

    Obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Permit through the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department. You must present evidence of a valid permit before or on your first day of employment.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

    Ability and passion to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

    Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.

    Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash for takeout orders.

    Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

    Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    Ability to see, hear, stand, walk, lift and carry various items for prolonged periods of time.

    Must be at least 21 years of age and have legal authorization to work in the United States.
