Inspired by the timeless fish houses of the East, West, and Gulf shorelines, we create incredible memories and share delicious food and drink with friends and family. We are a neighborhood seafood bar with a wild vibe of rocks popping, drinks shaking, pots and pans clattering from the counter bar, and laughter a happening.     Bartender & Oyster Shucker/Barback Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar

    At Jax, our Bartenders & Oyster Shuckers are the curators of hospitality, responsible for guiding our guests through an exceptional dining experience. This dual-role position requires adaptability, skill, and a passion for both craft cocktails and fresh seafood.

    Responsibilities:

    Bartending: Craft and serve high-quality beverages while providing exceptional hospitality. Guide guests through our food and drink offerings with expertise and enthusiasm.

    Oyster Shucking & Barbacking: Shuck and present the freshest oysters with precision and showmanship, engaging with guests at the raw bar. Assist in bar setup, stock maintenance, and overall service support.

    Maintain a deep understanding of food, wine, and cocktail pairings.

    Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, seamlessly transitioning between roles as needed.

    Work efficiently with kitchen and bar equipment, including knives, slicers, and hot surfaces.

    Qualifications:

    Detail-oriented with strong knowledge of proper service steps and etiquette.

    Excellent communication skills and a guest-first mindset.

    Comfortable handling fresh seafood/shellfish and working in both the kitchen and dining/bar areas.

    Ability to stay cool under pressure and adaptable to shifting responsibilities.

    Here’s the Skinny:

    Full-Time or Part-Time (full-availability: nights & weekends)

    2 Years Experience

    Sommelier and/or Cicerone Certification a plus

    Team Service Tip Pool Model (we share tips among all hourly employees!)

    Start earning $24 - $30 per hour with tips and the opportunity to earn more!

    Paid Sick Time

    Tips and/or Responsible Alcohol Service Certification (we’ll provide training!)
