The West Fargo Park District is seeking enthusiastic Basketball for Beginners Coaches for our December and January sessions. If you have basketball knowledge and experience working with youth, this is a great opportunity to share your skills in a fun and supportive environment!

Position Overview

As a Basketball for Beginners Coach, you will introduce youth ages 4-7 to the basics of basketball. You'll focus on teaching fundamental skills and leading engaging drills to help young players gain confidence and a love for the game.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Drills: Instruct youth in foundational basketball drills to build basic skills.

Teach Fundamentals: Guide players in learning essential techniques like dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Create a Fun Environment: Foster a positive and enjoyable experience that encourages a love for basketball.

Supervise Participants: Ensure safety and positive interaction among participants during all activities.

Work Schedule

This seasonal role requires availability for the following dates and times:

● December 16- 19: Monday-Thursday, 4:45 pm to 7:00 pm

● January 21-30: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:45 pm to 7:00 pm

Qualifications

● Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.

● Basketball Knowledge: Experience playing or familiarity with basketball fundamentals.

● Experience with Children: Prior experience working with young children, especially in sports or recreational settings.

● Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with young players and their parents.

● Positive Attitude: Enthusiastic and encouraging approach to coaching youth.
