This is a First Shift position, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with occasional overtime on Friday based on business needs. Blending environment is climate controlled.
Job Description
Work as a member of the blending team. Perform various tasks, including, but not limited to: pre-weighing/batching ingredients for blends, operating blending equipment, setup/changeover, minor mechanical adjustments, sanitizing of the blending equipment and completing production paperwork both electronically and in writing.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow proper instructions on blend recipes and batch tickets to ensure products are consistently safe and of superior quality
- Inspect product during batching and blending and escalate any potential quality issues to blending supervisor and/or quality assurance
- Locate and maintain inventories in the pre-weigh room, work with warehouse to keep stock at proper levels and engage with management on proper material and lot records
- Manage all assembly, disassembly, operations and record keeping of all blending equipment including, but not limited to, scales, blenders, sifters, magnets, metal detectors and hoppers
- Load materials into blender(s) and perform pack off of finished products for all batch productions
- Prepare equipment for runs including proper safety checks and documentation; follow product change overs, pack size changes and cleaning procedures between runs
- Maintain production areas in proper state of cleanliness and follow all SOPs; follow GMPs and keep company in compliance with certifications (Organic, Kosher, HACCP, SQF, etc.)
- Assist in preventative maintenance procedures
- Work as part of a team to identify and improve processing times, accuracy and performance
Requirements and Skills
- Previous food manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and PPE requirements.
- Strong basic math, reading skills. Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of manual and power jack and forklift operation (training will be provided, as necessary)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
