Escuela Avancemos is seeking a Behavior Interventionist Specialist for the 2024-2025 School Year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in the areas of social work, psychology, education and/or sociology
· Knowledge of best practice and research-based intervention practices delivered in a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS/RTI)
· Successful experience working with at-risk students
· Knowledge of group dynamics, facilitation, and restorative practices
· Ability to analyze, implement, track, and report intervention plans and strategies
· Spanish language, preferred.
· Submit to a criminal background check and be found without record.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Student Support Interventionist must have the knowledge and skills necessary to support students, staff, and systems through a positive behavioral support framework. The Student Support Interventionist will maintain a caseload of identified general education students to provide additional support, strategies, and accommodations to improve student’s behavioral, mental health, and academic outcomes. The Student Support Interventionist will also facilitate and lead weekly small group sessions focused on skill-building with identified students,
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uphold a student-centered, restorative, and healing approach upholding the Academy’s mission and values at all times.
Maintain a general education caseload of identified students for behavioral and mental health supports
Promote highly specialized positive behavior interventions in which “at risk” students thrive: behavior instruction that is explicit, intensive, accelerated, and provides ample practice.
Use ongoing assessments to maintain a record of student progress.
Participate in the PBIS team behavioral
Participate in the behavior intervention team process and meetings
Plan and facilitate skill-based groups based on school needs
Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions
Push-in and co-teach with teachers as needed to support behavior in the classroom
Work with staff/students to guide and support them in understanding the behavioral support process
Work with staff and students to develop plans for improvement
Complete and implement FBAs and behavior intervention plans as needed
Serve as an advocate for students to help resolve classroom issues.
Communicate and establish effective working partnerships with families
Consult with School Social Worker, Teachers, special education team, and families as needed
Maintain confidentiality with all student records and information
Supervise and monitor students during lunch periods as scheduled by the administration
