Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS) is a human services agency that provides mental and behavioral health services. Our goal is to address a broad array of human needs with our services.
The Behavior Interventionist Trainer (BIT) position will be held by an individual who has the training, education, and/or experience necessary to serve as the Qualified Autism Service Professional. This person is responsible for providing clinical training and post-training support to new hires and current staff. The BITT is an individual who meets all of the following criteria: provides behavioral health treatment, implements treatment plans with the oversight and guidance of the BCBA / Licensed Individual / Clinical Director, provides competency-based initial and ongoing training to behavior interventionists, and has training and experience in providing services for individuals with developmental disabilities including pervasive developmental disorder, intellectual disability, autism or other delays.
Essential Job Functions:
To perform this job successfully, the BITT must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below. Job requirements include but are not limited to the following:
All responsibilities of standard RBTs (i.e., work 1:1 clients, follow behavior plans and acquisition plans created by a BCBA, take data on all target behaviors, attend team meetings, debrief with parents daily, write daily session notes, collaborate with BCBA during observations, daily set up and clean up).
Conduct initial and ongoing training and/or coaching to Connections BTs. Provide feedback to new staff in training in a professional and constructive manner. BST will be utilized to communicate with staff (further training in BST will be provided). This may include providing difficult feedback to trainees and diffusing potential conflict.
Provide support/training via in person, telehealth, role play, and live/remote class sessions. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive, safe environment where new hires have the space to learn and grow
Able to coach struggling trainees/current staff to effectively improve their clinical and professional skill set
Superb model of session skills, engaging clients, collecting data, implementing behavior analytic strategies correctly.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, human development, special education, social work, or other related field
Experience in training, supporting and managing entry-level direct care staff, or behavior interventionists
Experience as a Clinical Supervisor in the field of behavior analysis is preferred
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior analytic therapies; experience delivering these services
Experience with staff training and supervision
Must be proficient with DTT, ABA Program/Goal Development, ABA Behavior Reduction and Skills Acquisition Procedures, and Staff Training
Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to multitask
Must be able to work well as part of a team
Current RBT/ BCAT preferred
