The Behavioral Health Technician at Bridgemark is responsible for providing direct care, supervision, and support to adult male residents undergoing substance use disorder treatment. This position ensures the safety, well-being, and adherence to program guidelines while facilitating a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the admission process of new clients, including orientation procedures and scheduling necessary assessment and counseling appointments.
Answer client questions and assist clients in adjusting to the program routine and schedule of activities.
Serve as a liaison between clients and clinical staff to report any changes in physical or mental conditions.
Supervise clients with a focus on safety, ensuring adherence to program rules and regulations.
Facilitate orientation groups and administer the required knowledge test as needed.
Participate in shift turnover, maintaining continuity of care through written and electronic documentation in addition to verbal communication.
Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) as required for all documentation.
Monitor clients as required and document whereabouts as per protocol. Address any client issues as needed, and de-escalate as necessary.
Ensure cleanliness and proper disposal of trash inside and outside of the facility.
Complete required urine screens and breathalyzers and document per agency protocols.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and required staff training.
Maintain accurate and timely completion of paperwork, incident reports, and client documentation.
Provide emotional support to clients and refer them to clinical staff for clinical issues.
Interact respectfully with clients while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance when necessary to manage client behavior effectively.
Manage medication inventory, ensuring accurate counts, tracking, and documentation. Pass out medications at designated times and follow all procedures for medication administration.
