QUALIFICATIONS:
The direct care staff shall be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a minimum of one year full time experience in a residential setting.
Familiarity with charting, medication administration and positive behavior support as required.
Complete a minimum of 30 hours of training in the first year of hire and 20 hours per year thereafter of continuing education.
Must obtain a valid First Aid/ CPR certification and Water Safety prior to the provision of services to clients.
Must provide a health screen/physical and a TB test completed by a physician.
Must maintain a fingerprint background clearance.
Must have a valid CA driver license.
Duties:
Will be thoroughly familiar with the program plan for each client in the facility.
Will fully understand behavior modification techniques and how to correctly implement them.
Will document incidents that occur.
Will maintain current progress notes and data frequency counts on each client assigned to them.
Will attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Will be able to instill acceptable behavior on others.
Will perform basic medical treatment as prescribed and pass medication as directed.
Will ensure open lines of communication with other staff members.
Will assist in supervision of meal preparation and housekeeping chores as assigned.
Have the ability to exercise mature judgment and relate to clients in a warm, caring, and non-expletive means.
Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and facility like manner.
Report observation or evidence of violation of any client’s right.
Participate in client’s recreation program activities.
