We are seeking our next Benefits & Human Resources Coordinator to join our Team Resources team. In this role, you will manage employee benefits as well as other HR-related activities. This role involves developing and administering benefits programs, ensuring compliance with HR regulations, and supporting employee relations, recruitment, and organizational staffing.
This is a full-time, on-site (not hybrid or remote) position, located in Elkhorn, WI. Adams is proud to offer a competitive pay range of $57,000 - $62,000 per year based on recent, relevant experience. Schedule:
The schedule for this role is primarily Monday – Friday, day-time hours. Later hours and weekends may be required depending on our workload and the needs/schedules of our teams, as well as any unforeseen circumstances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
Administer employee insurance programs, including health, disability, and life insurance.
Manage savings and retirement plans, such as 401(k) and deferred compensation programs.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
Oversee payroll deductions and employer contributions.
Workers compensation administration.
HR experience in the construction/building trades industry is preferred, but not required.
HR Policy and Compliance:
Maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, and promotions using HR management systems.
Monitor compliance with organizational policies and labor laws.
Employee Relations and Recruitment:
Address employee relations issues, including work complaints and harassment allegations with the Director.
Inform employees about benefits, duties, and responsibilities.
HR Technology and Data Management:
Utilize HR and data analysis tools to collect and analyze demographic and market trends.
Conduct employee surveys and census studies to support HR initiatives.
General HR Support:
Provide support to employees and management to foster a collaborative work environment.
Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in HR management and compensation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
3-5 years of experience in HR, including benefits administration.
Preferred certifications: PHR, SPHR, CCP, SCP, or equivalent.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and employee relations principles.
Proficiency with HR software and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, HRIS systems).
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
Knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
Ability to foster cooperative working relationships across teams.
Computer Skills:
PC proficiency is required, with experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Reasoning Ability:
Requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Language Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Requires mastery of business English language skills to read, analyze, and interpret information, policies and procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Able to write reports and business correspondence.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The Employee often needs to sit, stand, walk, and use their hands for various tasks. The Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds of weight. Specific vision abilities this job requires include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
