    The Healthcare Analytics Consultant / Managing Consultant position is a senior-level consulting staff position.  This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Healthcare Analytics Consultant / Managing Consultant will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include: management of junior staff, design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of financial and healthcare transactional data, quality control, development and presentation of client deliverables, management of existing client relationships, industry research, and supporting others in business development needs.

    This position will be located in our Tampa office and offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of all technical and management aspects of engagement requirements in their primary areas of expertise, as well as a thorough understanding of the business and financial principles of the healthcare industry.
    • Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, review work product for completeness and accuracy, and help further the development of junior staff.
    • Demonstrate consistent, balanced project execution, delegation, supervision and leadership skills across all areas of an engagement.
    • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
    • Develop analyses and financial models using transactional data and/or financial data. 
    • Generate client deliverables and make valuable contributions to expert reports.
    • Help manage client relationships and communicate results and work product as appropriate.
    • Prioritize assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines.
    • Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives, write business proposals and proposed work scopes, and contribute to other office and team functions, such as recruiting.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS degree with a focus in business or data analytics or a relevant field;
    • Minimum five (5+) years of work experience with a focus on data analytics, advanced econometrics or financial analyses, preferably in healthcare;
    • Proven capability specifically with MS Excel and MS SQL Server is required and experience with other data analytics program(s) (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, MS Access) is a plus. A desire to expand those capabilities is required, as is the ability to train others to use such tools;
    • Desire and ability to manage processes and other consultants;
    • Commitment to producing high quality analysis and attention to details;
    • Keen interest in economic or financial analysis and research;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
    • Desire to work within a team environment.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior experience providing external or internal consulting services or strategic advice to healthcare organizations;
    • Familiarity with healthcare contracting, billing, claims processing and reimbursement;
    • Familiarity with healthcare risk adjustment reimbursement models;
    • Practical knowledge of the healthcare regulatory environment; and/or
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) accreditation, Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) and/or other similar credential(s).
