    Summary/Objective:

    The Manufacturing Test Engineer will possess a strong background in software development or a related Engineering field such as Computer Science, with experience in troubleshooting and developing electrical systems. This candidate will collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering to develop, implement, and maintain software solutions that control automated test processes. Additionally, the Test Engineer will work closely with a cross-functional team that utilizes the Agile Scrum process to manage projects. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is preferred, along with a background in medical device manufacturing and familiarity with ISO 13485 quality systems. Critical attributes and skills for this role include technical creativity, initiative, ability to analyze problems, prioritize and negotiate priorities, use a hands-on practical approach, multi-tasking, and coordinating between groups within the company. As a vital member of this team, the individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the company's products through meticulous testing procedures and innovative testing solutions.

    • Required Skills :
      • Executing test cases, analyzing results, and identifying defects to ensure product quality and reliability.
      • Utilizing a variety of testing methodologies to validate software and hardware functionality in manufacturing environments.
      • Applying Design Verification Testing (DVT) and Validation & Verification (V&V) principles to ensure that product requirements are met and documented.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in software development and implementation to support testing processes, with a strong emphasis on C++ and Python programming languages.
    • Process Improvement : * Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in testing procedures. * Providing recommendations for enhancing test automation and integration with manufacturing systems.
    • Development : * Designing and developing software for test fixtures and automated assembly equipment, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes and scalability. * Implementing control algorithms and software interfaces to enable efficient operation of test fixtures and automated assembly equipment. * Conducting thorough testing and validation of developed software systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with specifications. * Providing support for troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues during development and production phases. * Designing and developing electrical systems for test fixtures and automated assembly equipment, ensuring compatibility with software and manufacturing processes. * Implementing control systems and interfaces to enable efficient operation of test fixtures and automated assembly equipment. * Conducting thorough testing and validation of developed electrical systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with specifications. * Providing support for troubleshooting and resolving electrical-related issues during development and production phases.
    • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams : * Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, to design comprehensive test plans and strategies. * Working closely with Electrical Engineering to develop and integrate test systems and automation solutions into production processes. * Collaborating with developers and Electrical Engineers to troubleshoot issues related to test systems and automation equipment.
    • Training and Support :
      • Providing training and support to team members on testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
      • Serving as a subject matter expert on testing-related topics and providing guidance as needed.
    • Operates with high standards that are aligned to Certified B-Corp values.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development; 4-5 years preferred.

    • Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.

    • Proficiency in JavaScript programming is a plus.

    • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies is a plus

    Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment

    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
    • Personal Protective Equipment may be required for laboratory or field work.

    Physical Demands

    • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to be independently mobile. The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with co-workers.
    • This position requires travel up to 15% depending upon business needs.

    Location

    • This position is based out of our office in Irvine, California.

    Salary Range

    $100,000 - $140,000
