Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)/Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Bethpage Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Athletic Trainer/Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to become a collaborative team member with an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist to provide pre-habilitation, performance enhancement, tailored strength and conditioning programing, tailored therapeutic exercise, preventive maintenance, injury evaluation, ergonomic recommendations, and referrals to medical care if needed in fighter aircrew. The position is located in Klamath Falls, OR. This position is pending award of a government contract, and it is set to start after September 1, 2023 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Position awardee must be willing to relocate to Klamath Falls, OR upon notice after September 1, 2023 pending the passing of an extensive military background check. Relocation date may be delayed and is dependent upon the timing of the contract award, if received. Responsibilities:
Evaluate and provide pre-habilitations for all assigned fighter aircrew personnel
Develop individualized programs (IP) for each member served
Guide ongoing implementation of the IP
Monitor progress and continually reassess and adjust the IP to ensure the member is making the best progress possible
Advise unit commanders on matters related to injury prevention, identify opportunities for improvement, develop protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for fitness programs
Communicate with the servicing Medical Group when an aircrew member has a medical condition or injury requiring medical care
Attend annual required training IAW guiding instructions
Provide human performance and pre-habilitation trending metrics report
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in athletic training.
Current certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) process (BOC) required.
Oregon State License in Athletic Training
Current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Current CPR Certification
Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an Athletic Trainer.
Demonstrated experience with professional and/or elite-level athletes.
Strong skills in effective team dynamics to facilitate the exchange of information/education, enhance goal achievement, and identify changes in system or policy at any level.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, professional code of ethics, AF guidance, DoD guidance, and practice standards to ensure adherence within legal and professional parameters.
Knowledge and skill in using quality and risk management programs and processes to identify issues to improve practice and ensure compliance.
Skill in using research tools to critically evaluate existing practices, opportunities, and outcomes.
Knowledge of computers and software applications to conduct data collection, tracking, trending, and analysis.
Ability to design and present computer-generated outcome analysis information in order to provide timely and effective peer and higher-level educational programs or project briefings.
Desired:
Sustained experience working with elite athlete populations is highly desired, including working with Special Operation Forces (SOF) specific performance programs and developing sport/mission-specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with elite athletes (i.e. Division I collegiate, Olympic, professional level athletes, or military combat professionals)
Other:
Possess oral and written communication skills to meaningfully interact with peers, outside agencies, vendors, providers, and Military Health System (MHS) stakeholders to exchange information, provide briefings, presentations, participate in research, and develop metrics to demonstrate or advance effective and efficient aircrew neck and back pain prevention.
