Job Description
The Absence Management Specialist manages and administers the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests based on state and federal regulations and in accordance with Bi-State Development attendance policies and procedures. The position will provide prompt response to leave inquiries and determine eligibility for FMLA as well as other possible leave options under Bi-State Development.

The Role
Absence Management Specialists efficiently and compassionately manage employees' absences while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. We strive to provide exceptional support to union and non-union employees and supervisors, guiding them through the leave process and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of FMLA and related laws and regulations and experience in Absence Management. Ability to interact effectively with BSDA/Metro management officials, supervisors, and employees. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently under pressure. Ability to classify and enter data accurately. Ability to format and analyze data and develop policy & procedure changes as a result. Kronos and union workforce experience is a plus.

Experience
Degree: A.A.S. degree or equivalent experience required
Years: 1-3 years
