ASSISTANT BRAND MANAGER
Bil-Jac Foods is a family-owned manufacturer of super-premium pet food. As Assistant Brand Manager at Bil-Jac, you will support the Sr. Brand Manager in the reporting and analysis of marketing and CRM initiatives. Projects could include, but are not limited to, digital and CRM data analytics, consumer engagement programs, test marketing setup and coordination, analysis of competitive and retail data, category review planning assistance, and packaging changes. If you’re analytical, possess a curious mind, and have experience in diving into the data to help improve our marketing programs, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll be a critical part of the team to help us identify opportunities and drive growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand and Marketing Management
- Support Sr. Brand Manager in the measurement of all marketing campaigns, including assessing mass media, digital, and social initiatives.
- Identify, develop and analyze programs via CRM Database and Marketing Automation to increase consumer engagement and loyalty.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in support of the development of new product ideas, product improvements, and new product activation strategies.
- Gather and analyze key insights on competitive landscape and translate into actionable business recommendations.
- Assist with and learn the process of package development, design and proofing, including graphics.
- Assist in developing compelling communication pieces to drive sales growth and brand awareness across core channels and platforms.
- Support the Sr. Brand Manager in the recommendation of annual plans to grow and develop the business.
- Coordinate and execute set-up and dismantle of 2-3 national trade shows per year.
General Administrative
- Assist in analyzing and maintaining CRM database as needed.
- Update website information as needed as well as other digital platforms.
- Proof communications and packaging to ensure accuracy and brand voice.
- Track and report marketing spending.
- Understand data reports including Point of Sale data and scanner data.
- Service ad hoc information requests from Marketing and Sales.
Market & Competitor Analysis
- Evaluate data and market trends influencing the business.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations through close collaboration with the brand team and sales.
- Catalog relevant consumer information relating to respective categories (IRI Panel Data, Consumer Studies, etc.) to feed the business planning process.
- Prepare for, attend and actively participate in weekly project meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a salary exempt full time position. Core hours are Mon-Fri 8-5. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required to meet the demands of projects or customer needs.
- This job operates in a professional office setting. Appropriate COVID safety measures are in place including social distancing, masks and hand hygiene.
- This position will require occasional overnight travel (currently on hold).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE:
- BS/BA in Business; Marketing major. MBA preferred.
- Two or more years relevant, brand, digital, or CRM marketing, preferably in consumer-packaged goods industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required with emphasis on Excel. Tableau, Database, Marketing Automation, Sequel, web and social a plus.
- Data/system knowledgeable/savvy, ability to learn CRM database software.
- Experience with digital marketing.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Successful multi-project, high-pressure project completions.
