Legal Secretary - (Bilingual, Spanish English, required) Our law firm is expanding, and we're searching for a legal assistant in The Woodlands, Texas. You'll provide the highest customer service possible to our clients while simultaneously completing crucial duties to assist the attorneys. You'll be vital to creating memorable client experiences and helping the firm's owner in growing the business. This critical function includes important administrative tasks related to customer service and direct legal support. The company is rapidly expanding, and the owner needs front-line support to "keep the trains running on time" and make sure our clients are happy. Daily tasks will include office communications, such as answering phone calls and emails, organizing meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is informed of impending deadlines. You will also assist in preparing legal papers and contracts and any other actions necessary to keep our business functioning efficiently. This is a crucial position in the organization. Because this is a full-time role, you must work 40 hours a week in the office. Prior experience and current pay will determine the starting wage. Raises will be based on job performance. Characteristics: • A positive, enthusiastic team-player attitude • Excellent customer service for every client, case, or task, even at 4:30 pm on Friday with the same care as one on Monday at 9 am • Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented to keep track of key dates, avoid costly mistakes, keep the right people informed, and prioritize your time so that we never miss a deadline • Stellar organization skills to keep track of files, dates, and client information • Time-management skills are essential to ensure the firm is operating efficiently Responsibilities: • Generate legal forms including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation and file legal documents with the court as needed • Schedule meetings, travel arrangements, and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Organize case and business files to ensure attorneys readily have the information they need • Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, handling office mail, making and scanning copies, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines • Enter attorney time accurately into the computer system Qualifications: • Prior experience in a law firm environment as a legal assistant • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • Ability to use law management software to process legal documents, conduct research, and manage the law firm's administrative operations • Along with basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office products and popular apps (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) is required • Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED; an associate’s degree of some college is preferred • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required Compensation: $16 - $18 hourly
