  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Receiving and answering emails, telephone calls, and mail for the facility.
    • Scheduling appointments for patients and clinicians.
    • Maintain a neat/tidy appearance in all areas of the department, returning equipment/ supplies to designated areas
    • Regularly sanitize exercise equipment, mats, and assistive devices according to hospital safety and infection control standards.
    • Evaluate and distribute linen supplies, changing linens on treatment tables according to procedures
    • Maintain medical supplies in all treatment areas
    • Checking and verifying information on patient medical records.
    • Coordinating admissions and discharge of patients.
    • Consulting with clinicians about patients' medical records.
    • Assist in department communication processes-answer telephones, transit messages from nursing service to the therapist, communicate between therapists, etc.
    • Assist the therapist with delivery, set-up, and clean-up of the treatment area (i.e., patient room, rehab gym, splint set up) for patient care delivery

    Patient Care:

    • Assist in and perform patient transfers and lifts using proper body mechanics, according to standard techniques.
    • Assist the therapist in evaluations/treatments at the bedside and the rehabilitation gym (i.e., exercises, mat activities, orthosis fabrication, modality preparation).
    • Report treatment activities, patient progress, and any unusual response to treatment or incident to the therapist.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Strong customer service and telephone skills
    • Good Computer skills with MS Office (MS Excel and Word)
    • Bilingual in Spanish
    • Experience as a Physical Therapy Aide in Outpatient settings is preferred but not required
