Bilingual Teacher
Catholic Social Services (CSS) in partnership with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has an opening in a program that provides foster care, treatment and educational services to assist unaccompanied children entering the United States. Educational services are provided on site. The agency offers paid vacation, sick time, a generous holiday schedule and medical benefits. The salary range is $48,000 to $53,000.
Essential Functions:
- Provide educational services for children ages 5 to 17 years.
- Complete an initial educational assessment for each child following placement.
- Provide instruction in all subject areas.
- Provide ESL instruction to the children as part of the curriculum.
- Incorporate a period of physical education/activity daily.
- Attend required trainings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Certification in teaching English as a second language.
- Ability to be flexible, creative and work in a diverse setting.
- Demonstrated written and verbal skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity.
