    Job Description

    AHRC NYC is looking to hire a Billing Specialist/Compliance Assistant for their Residential Division. This position has an annual salary of $46k and comes with FULL MEDICAL INS.     The major responsibilities of the Billing Specialist/Compliance Assistant include maintaining all records and documents supporting reimbursement claims and documentation verifying services provided to the people we support and assisting in ensuring that all regulatory rules mandated by funders and Medicaid are met.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (in-person)

    ** Essential Responsibilities**

    • Collects and thoroughly reviews daily billing paperwork for the department.
    • Serves as conduit to Finance/Billing Department and Program Records Unit under the supervision of Vice President of Residential Services and/or the Director of Residential Services.
    • Collaborates with facility staff to ensure all billing and corrections to billing are completed in timely and accurate manner.
    • Assists in departmental processes related to Billing Voids and Adjustments, ensuring all regulatory rules mandated by funders and Medicaid are met in processing of billing paperwork.
    • Identifies and reports to senior department managers any problems and/or issues related to billing paperwork or workflow.
    • Provides support to department I resolving billing issues or process barriers.
    • Conducts other related duties, as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree; or four years related experience or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Expertise in use of Microsoft Office applications and capacity to quickly learn new software systems, particularly related to billing and electronic health record systems. Must have data entry experience.
    • Strong ability to review and summarize data into analytical reports.
    • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and ability to independently set priorities and work on multiple tasks and projects.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours in order to ensure meeting of billing deadlines.
    • Experience working with people with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred.
