    Job Description

    AECOM is looking for a Billing Specialist II to assist the Finance Services team of the DCS and Consulting Services Group. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of office and remote scheduling and will be based out of Glen Allen, VA.

    This role will be responsible for performing the end-to-end processes of billing which includes but not limited to invoice creation & credit note cancellation servicing at least one or more region.

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Applies education, growing industry knowledge, technical capabilities and experience to perform assignments • Acquires skills through education, training, and new experiences • Experiments with new approaches and shares key learnings with team members
    • Receives guidance and support on new assignments and begins working independently on more straight-forward tasks
    • Accountable for specific portions of a project or process with general oversight
    • Impact of work is typically the employee's team and other internal business areas/project teams
    • Analyzes issues and applies solutions using standard procedures and known techniques • Applies judgement within defined parameters to find the best solution
    • Provides feedback about existing procedures and contributes to new ideas and approaches • Learns to be responsive to latest information and adapts to modified approaches when circumstances change
    • Exchanges information on routine and non-routine matters and builds relationships across departments
    • May support development of less experienced colleagues
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant Billing experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, or Order-to-Cash.
    • Intermediate proficiency in MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe application.
    • Advance knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and internal controls.
    • Experience working with ERP, i.e., Oracle Systems or SAP is preferred.
    • Previous experience in process migration/transition is preferred.
    • Experience working in Shared Services or BPO is preferred
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a varied audience and internal and external customers.
    • Ability to maintain good customer relationship with the ability to initiate ways to improve customer support customer experience.
    • Ability to be thorough and meticulous in completing assigned tasks and with the ability to propose ways to prevent or eliminate errors, discrepancies & issues.
    • Ability to identify and resolve moderate and complex issues by applying best practices and technical expertise and may recommend solutions for unique scenarios.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain efficiency and productivity while adjusting to changes in work structure, process, and requirements.
