    Job Description

    The Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in billing, financial analysis, and excellent communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and process complex client invoices in accordance with contractual agreements.
    • Review and verify billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and client requirements.
    • Resolve any billing discrepancies and follow up with clients as needed.
    • Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Monitor revenue recognition schedules and adjust as necessary to reflect changes in project status.
    • Maintain professional and effective communication with clients regarding billing inquiries, disputes, and payment arrangements.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts related to billing and revenue.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve billing processes, and work with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements.
    • Participate in system and process upgrades to support billing efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with government regulations, company policies, and industry standards related to billing and revenue recognition.
    • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, project management, and finance, to ensure accurate and coordinated billing processes.
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior billing staff / Billing Specialist I.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of billing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
    • Strong knowledge of billing principles, revenue recognition, and GAAP.
    • Proficiency in billing software and financial management systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.).
    • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Prior experience in the technology or security industry is a plus.

    Additional Information

    Salary Range: $55K-$65K
