We specialize in ENT, Allergy, Audiology, Facial Plastics and Sleep Medicine. We are looking for motivated team members to join our practice to help us continue our mission in providing the best patient care possible. Staff morale is a #1 priority for us, we like to keep things professional but fun. In addition, we pay 90% of the premium for medical and vision insurance and 100% for dental insurance.

    Under the general supervision of the Billing Director the Medical Billing Representative is responsible for processing all physician billing for Biltmore ENT. The Medical Billing Representative will perform a variety of tasks that will include maintaining billing software, appealing denied claims, and responding to patient billing requests.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Data entry of insurance and patient information
    • Posting of patient payments to accounts
    • Processes denials, claim re-submissions, appeals, and secondary claims
    • Manages monthly aging reports
    • Resolve patient account issues
    • Interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) to resubmit or appeal insufficient or denied claims
    • Process incoming inquiries from patients and insurance companies
    • Responsible for review of Interface information in patient accounts and/or timely and accurate entry of patient demographic and insurance information
    • Uses available resources to gather complete insurance data including use of websites, calls to patients, insurance companies or other institutions
    • Works various billing reports as assigned and report any issues back to Billing Manager
    • Respond to customer server requests from within the CBO
    • Maintain compliance will all company policy and procedures.
    • Completes trainings in accordance with HIPPAA
    • Performs related duties as assigned by Billing Manager

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Medical Billing and/or Coding Certificate from an accredited program
    • Associate degree in business, health care administration, accounting or relevant field (Preferred)

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical biller or similar role.
    • Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
    • Attention to detail, which is required to accurately record billing information

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Primary work location is in a general office environment, with noise level of office conditions.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, turn, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, printer, fax and telephone. Requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern duties as necessary to perform job functions.
