• Perform a wide variety of clerical work including the maintenance of accurate and detailed
records, verifying accuracy of information, researching discrepancies, auditing, and recording
information.
• Maintain and post data relating to specialty medication records and patient charts.
• Initiate and follow up on prior authorization requests for specialty medications.
• Initiate and follow up on Appeals process.
• Verify insurance eligibility.
• Present diagnosis that maybe contradicted for use in certain medications.
• Understanding of FDA approved indications for Biologic Medications.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, pharmacies, and patients.
• Enroll patients in co-pay and/or patient assistant programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA guidelines.
Requirements:
• Biologic Coordinator and/or Specialty Pharmacy experience required.
• Sound judgment, critical thinking, discretion, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Previous experience working in a dermatology office or similar healthcare setting required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to dermatology required.
• Knowledge of CoverMyMeds software program required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, J codes, & CPT codes required.
• Pharmacy knowledge such as benefits, dosing, prior authorizations, patient assistant programs,
etc. required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent Customer Service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care.
• Excellent data entry, proofreading, and record management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive patient
information.
• Ability to work effectively independently with minimal direction and/or guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related
field is a plus.
