Job Overview
As a Blaster, you will be responsible for executing blasting operations, delivering products, maintaining inventory, and operating equipment at customer sites. You will be a key player in maximizing safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction by performing blasting tasks and seeking new opportunities for Maxam’s services. This role requires hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Execute surface blasting operations, including loading, delaying, stemming, detonation, and blast inspection.
Design and implement blast plans in compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
Maintain accurate inventory of explosives and blasting supplies.
Generate complete and detailed shot reports.
Conduct thorough pre- and post-blast safety inspections of all equipment and work areas.
Ensure site security during blasting operations.
Operate blasting equipment safely on both smooth and rough terrain.
Identify and pursue business opportunities to promote Maxam’s products and services to clients.
Adhere to all company policies and industry best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
Travel as required to various job sites.
Key Qualifications
3-5 years of blasting experience in the local market, with a strong understanding of geographic conditions.
Proficiency in mining, quarry, and construction regulations.
Proven expertise in blast design, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to work safely, efficiently, and independently.
Willingness to travel regularly for work assignments.
