  • Responsibilities

    The overall objective of this position is to prepare parts and welded assemblies by blasting & painting to stage in order to finish the product, and meet defined production standards, schedules and quality requirements.

    Ü Staging metal parts and welded assemblies on racks in preparation for blasting, painting and assembly processes.

    Operating equipment that directs a flow of abrasive-laden compressed air over the surface of sheet metal parts to remove scale, grease, rust, dirt, and other debris.

    Ü Expertly mixing primers and paints, and spraying prepared surfaces as per drawing specifications.

    Ü Unloading dried parts and staging for assembly.

    Ü Examining finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and documents for quality control.

    Ü Maintaining a safe, clean organized work area.

    Ü Ensuring quality and efficiency by completing the job task faster than estimated hours.

    Required Skills

    I n trapersonal Skills: Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others.

    Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures and integrity.

    Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

    Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

    Me c han ic a l : Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: blast pot, paint pot, dust collector, recovery unit and wrenches.

    C o mputers and Electronics: Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.

    Ve r ba **l & Written Communication Skills: **This position requires basic skills (Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)

    Ma th Skills: This position requires minimal skills (add, subtract, etc.)

    Arm - Hand Steadiness : The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

    V i sualization : The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.

    Manua l Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

    Required Experience

     3 years of experience in blasting and painting in a commercial or industrial industry.
