JOB SUMMARY
The House person is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas of the hotel, assisting room attendants with general cleaning of guest rooms. This includes vacuuming, shampooing of carpets, cleaning/waxing of floors, trash removal, stocking and maintaining supply rooms and other cleaning duties as general cleaning , high dusting , deep cleaning on guest rooms , corridors, staircases.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
• Previous experience in similar capacities; hotels, hospitals etc. is preferred.
JOB ESSENTIALS
• Provide and supply all housekeeping carts with appropriate PAR levels of linens & towels in compliance with brand standards.
• Remove and clean soiled linens and trashes from rooms upon stripping and cleaning floors
• Collect all soiled linen in linen bins located in back lending and at shift ending all are taken to loading dock for laundry pick up for cleaning service.
• House person must participate on restock linen on floors as necessary in absence of linen runners
• Clean and maintain common areas, i.e., elevators and elevators trucks stock, all back lending must be in order and perfectly cleaned. Floor closets must be organized and cleaned –corridors / hallways, and stairs must be cleaned daily. Cleaning may require cleaning of windows, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing marble floors and tile floors as required.
• Perform deep/ general cleaning as scheduled on business needs. Assist attendants on immediate rushed tasks
• Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow up with guest are performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service. Assist guest in the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise in accordance to the “Make it Right” and promote brand Motto “Fell home away from home” established guidelines.
• Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday, Evenings, weekends and holidays
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

• Ability to work use commercial cleaning chemicals.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests.
• Able to understand and follow all safety related procedures while performing all tasks.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday, Evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag according to hotel dress code.
• Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this position, the job regularly requires standing and walking for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions, bending, stretching, reaching, stooping, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
