    Job Summary: The BCBA is responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing behavior intervention plans for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or other behavioral concerns. The BCBA works closely with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop strategies that enhance the quality of life and promote positive behavioral changes. This position requires a deep understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques, data collection methods, and ethical practices in behavior intervention.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Behavior Assessment:

    Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of problem behaviors.

    Analyze and interpret assessment data to guide the development of treatment plans.

    Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results and client needs.

    Treatment Implementation:

    Design and implement behavior interventions utilizing evidence-based practices in ABA.

    Provide direct support to clients, modeling therapeutic techniques and ensuring adherence to treatment protocols.

    Monitor and adjust interventions based on client progress and data analysis.

    Data Collection and Analysis:

    Collect and analyze data on client behaviors to assess the effectiveness of interventions.

    Maintain accurate records of client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

    Train staff and caregivers in data collection methods to ensure consistency in intervention delivery.

    Collaboration and Consultation:

    Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, clinicians, and caregivers, to ensure consistent and comprehensive support for clients.

    Provide consultation and guidance to families and caregivers on behavior management strategies and techniques.

    Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

    Supervision and Training:

    Provide supervision and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other staff working with clients.

    Ensure that staff are trained in the implementation of behavior intervention strategies and maintain fidelity to treatment protocols.

    Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training for staff.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and behavior data.

    Prepare written reports and treatment summaries for clients, families, and other professionals as needed.

    Comply with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in behavior analysis practice.

    Qualifications:

    Education: Master’s degree or higher in behavior analysis, psychology, or a related field.

    Certification: Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

    Experience: Experience in behavior analysis, working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities, and providing direct behavior intervention services.

    Skills:

    Strong knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.

    Proficient in data collection, analysis, and graphing.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

    Additional Requirements: Background check and relevant state licensure may be required.

    Working Conditions:

    The BCBA may work in various settings including homes, schools, clinics, and community settings.

    Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, families, and other team members.

    Flexible work hours may be needed, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate client schedules.
