    Description

    We are seeking an energetic, goal driven, responsible leader to manage our Boarding Department, including team of animal caretakers. We are a full-service veterinary practice and boarding facility located in Norco, California.     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Consult with and regularly report to the Director of Operations on all boarding department matters.

    · Participate in the hiring of new ACAs, their onboarding, training, mentoring, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluations, daily management and providing supervision and support by troubleshooting issues as they arise.

    · Verify employee availability and create monthly team schedules.

    · Maintain and promote clients, employees, and community relations.

    · Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.

    · Oversee/verify opening and end of day procedures and verify accuracy of estimates, invoices, and pet records.

    · Manage the boarding reservation scheduler to ensure an efficient and smooth workflow.

    · Assist with answering phones and handling calls quickly and efficiently in a professional and friendly manner. Receive and relay telephone/email messages promptly.

    · Evaluate incoming animals for behavior concerns, and overall health to determine the presence of obvious issues such as skin infection, topical parasites, oozing masses, matted haircoat, lesions and any concern that may result in a detriment to their health and wellbeing throughout their boarding stay.

    · Bring noted problems to the attention of pet owners, boarding and medical staff for discussion and resolution prior to admittance.

    · Oversee intake and the care and wellbeing of shelter pets in our Rescue ward and assist with veterinary diagnostics/treatments.

    · Pet care tasks include husbandry, sanitation procedures, feeding, medication administration, providing enrichment and in some situations minor first aid

    · Complete projects/tasks as assigned in a timely manner.

    · Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

    · Participate in employee training and revenue initiatives for the boarding department.

    · Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and correspondence.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    AA/AS (preferred)

    Leadership experience 3yrs (required)

    Kennel Management 2 yrs (required)

    Fear Free certificate (preferred)
