    Job Summary

    We are seeking a talented Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the company’s compliance with all legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include recording and verifying transactions, bringing the books to the trial balance stage. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting, and extensive experience with Quickbooks.

    Responsibilities:

    Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements.

    Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

    Prepare and review financial statements and reports.

    Manage payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.

    Track and manage project-related expenses and budgets.

    Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of clients and follow up on outstanding payments.

    Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

    Collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation and audits.

    Monitor and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

    Provide financial insights and support to management for decision-making.

    Assist Project Managers and Coordinators in providing timely and accurate information on financial and/or payment request and support of submission for payment request as provided by customer processes, procedures, and policies.

    Issue Purchase Orders to subcontractors as required.

    Provide invoices to customers.

    Processing and coding subcontractor and vendor invoices, posting and issuing checks, credit card and online payments.

    Reconciling bank account, subcontractor, and customer payments.

    Provide daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly financial summaries or reports as planned or requested for active projects.

    Qualifications

    Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position

    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

    Proficient with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems

    Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

    Strong mathematical and analytical skills

    Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    Experience with construction project management software.

    Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and job costing.

    Communication Skills – ability to communicate clearly in conversations and interactions with others.

    Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – ability to tackle a problem by using a logical and systematic approach.

    Leadership Skills – Ability to think and work independently the ability to work co-operatively with others to produce impactive solutions.
