Community CARES is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team. For almost 20 years, Community CARES has been empowering people to move from the homeless to home. This position will manage all the organization's finances. Your responsibilities will include tracking revenue, expenses, and taxes, as well as producing financial reports. You will also be responsible for auditing our books to ensure our records are correct.
Experience:
• Bookkeeping: 1 year (Required)
Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities a bookkeeper is expected to assume in their position:
Prepare accounting records by compiling and analyzing account information
Study financial trends to determine future business needs
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software QuickBooks.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
Reconcile Community CARES’ financial records to help ensure the accuracy of financial statements and reports.
· Post financial transactions to accounts and prepare financial statements
Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Keep all financial records for the organization up-to-date daily/monthly
Provide support during the annual audit process.
Bill all grants in a timely matter and keep accurate records of expenses
Track all restricted funding
Lead the annual budgeting process
Assist in the annual audit process
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
Below are the qualifications expected of a bookkeeper:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks; experience with other tax preparation and accounting software
Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Self-starter
