Job Summary
We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our property management real estate team. In this role, you will support the senior accountant and help oversee data entry and payables for a portfolio of 39 properties. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the accountant and senior staff team to process payables and other regular bookkeeping tasks accurately. Additionally, you will update existing information, enter new information, create spreadsheets, and perform other administrative AND light accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is a team player with attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and a desire to learn some accounting and property management software. We will require this role to work three days a week in our Beverly Hills office and two days from home. We will need to train in person until training is completed which could take up to two weeks.
Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Pay utilities and enter RUBS (ration utility billing)
Print and mail checks
Create reports or otherwise retrieve data from the database
Make bank runs as needed
Maintain an organized filing system of original documents
Handle payables and receivables for the company
Communicate with vendors to ensure the accuracy of charges and payments
Enter financial data and transactions
Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
Auditing ledgers for accuracy and adding charges as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree
Strong attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
Understanding of databases
Familiarity with standard office equipment such as fax machines and printers
Previous experience as a Data Entry Clerk or in a similar position is preferred
