The Bookkeeper position supports the accounting operations of Kemper Center, Inc. and is responsible for the organization’s financial recordkeeping.
The Bookkeeper should have significant experience working in an office environment and using a variety of skills, especially: ❖ Knowledge of Windows operating systems; ❖ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software; ❖ Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles, including payables, receivables and financial recordkeeping; ❖ Proficiency in QuickBooks financial management software is essential. ❖ Strong organization skills; the ability to prioritize and complete tasks; ❖ Ability to evaluate and streamline functions; ❖ Ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member. ❖ Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding organizations finances.
Responsibilities: ❖ Coordinating payroll information and preparing payroll (ADP); maintaining all records and reports associated with payroll. ❖ Prepares accounts payable and receivable, including generating checks and invoices and all associated records and reports. ❖ Prepares bank deposits; ❖ Prepares event cash bags for all onsite events; ❖ Work with Accountant and Executive Director in preparing reports. ❖ Keeps Executive Director informed on any and all financial issues impacting Kemper Center, Inc. ❖ Provides financial information, as needed, to Kemper Center, Inc’s accounting and auditing firms.
Experience: ❖ Minimum of two (2) years bookkeeping experience.
