  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    In need of an experienced bookkeeper/receptionist for growing event production and concessions business.

    Daily activities

    • Process accounts payable invoices: review, post and pay all vendor invoices while ensuring proper project tracking and expense coding for all invoices
    • Maintain project folders with all estimates, vendor/customer invoices and P&Ls
    • Assist with preparation of estimates and accounts receivable invoices for projects
    • Assist with collections, cash posting and preparing bank deposits
    • Set up of POS (point-of-sale) devices (i.e., Square, Toast or Clover) for various events.
    • Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations
    • Prepare and enter journal entries as needed (reclasses/accruals)
    • Cash handling
    • Assist with preparation of periodic Texas sales & use tax and mixed beverage tax returns
    • Perform receptionist duties: answering phones and greeting visitors
    • Perform filing and general office duties
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience / Skills

    • Associates in Accounting or higher, or equivalent work experience
    • Three years of proven accounting experience with A/P, A/R, Project Accounting and General Ledger
    • Two to three years of proven experience with Quickbooks Online
    • Experience with POS (point-of-sale) hardware/software (i.e., Square, Toast, Clover or atVenu)
    • Proven MS Excel skills; intermediate preferred (pivot tables, V lookup, etc.)
    • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to stay on task and prioritize workload while managing interruptions
    • Excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
    • Self-motivated individual who possesses a "roll up the sleeves attitude"
