    SJLD (Scalco Johnson Leahy & Dudek, CPAs PLLC) is a small CPA firm located in Southwest Austin. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a full-time position and offers health benefits, PTO, bonus compensation and more.

    As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial record keeping and reporting for multiple clients. You should be a self-starter and be able to work independently. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to thrive in a sometimes fast-paced, demanding work environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the multiple bookkeeping clients.

    • Develop and implement efficient bookkeeping processes and procedures.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

    • Ensure and oversee timely and accurate billing, preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements to identify and resolve discrepancies or variances.

    • Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize financial performance.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.

    • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards.

    • Provide financial analysis and guidance to management as needed.

    The Ideal Candidate will have:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, with the utilization of both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.

    • Fluency with QuickBooks tools, including Bank Feeds, Banking Rules, and Bank Reconciliation with a focus on streamlining the bookkeeping process. The ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot in QuickBooks and other similar programs.

    • A solid working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany Accounts, Invoicing Management, BS, P&L, Cash Flows, Chart of Accounts, Financial Reports, GL, Sales Tax Reporting, Payroll Processing, Payroll Taxes and Liabilities. General understanding of tax filing needs of the small business owner.

    • Proficiency with technology and software programs including QuickBooks, Adobe, Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point) and more. Willingness to learn new programs and technologies quickly.

    • An active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is preferred.

    • Meeting with Potential Clients and onboarding them with the firm/bookkeeping services.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
