Bookkeeping Assistant | The Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm
Salary: $20-$22/hour
Schedule: Full-Time; 30 hours a week (6 hours a day)
Location: Chicago Office
Position Overview: At The Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm, we are dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation, ensuring injured individuals receive the compensation they deserve. As a Bookkeeping Assistant, as an entry level position, you'll play a crucial role in our financial operations, maintaining accurate records and supporting the firm's financial success.
Responsibilities:
- **Efficiently Manage Incoming Checks & Deposits: **Accurately process and record all incoming checks, ensuring timely deposits to maintain optimal cash flow.
- **Meticulously Print & Distribute Financial Documents: **Print checks and invoices with precision, ensuring they are mailed out promptly and to the correct recipients.
- Diligently Document Client Transactions: Create detailed notes in SmartAdvocate for all checks mailed out, maintaining comprehensive records on client cases for transparency and accountability.
- Adapt and Excel in Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional assigned duties as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting the firm's evolving needs.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop for Enterprise preferred.
- Cash/Check handling experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Ability to work in a team setting and individually.
