    Bookstore Supervisor

    Job Overview: Manages retail bookstore, engaged in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties personally, through subordinate supervisors, or bookstore employees.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities ▪ Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees/volunteers to specific duties. ▪ Assist in formulating pricing policies on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations. ▪ Helps in coordinating sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising tools. ▪ Process transfer-ins or Purchase orders (from vendors and 3rd party fulfillment center) to the bookstores. ▪ Process orders and transfers out requested by other departments within the ministry. ▪ Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data to provide detailed and extensive sales reports including ROI reports to indicate promotional and / or campaign results ▪ Ensures all hardware and software of the Bookstore are working to optimum level ▪ Aides in planning and preparing work schedules and assigns volunteers to specific duties. ▪ Helps in coordinating sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising tools. Keeps the store clean and always in high visual standards. ▪ Controls the operation, orders and finances of all vending machines among the different properties of the ministry. ▪ Keeps the store clean and always in high visual standards. ▪ Supervises employees/volunteers engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts and/or reports (including cash registers and safe), keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for Accounting, or performs work of subordinates, as needed. ▪ Works with employees and volunteers to achieve or exceed sales goals. ▪ Orders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand. ▪ Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping procedures and practices. ▪ Answers customer's complaints or inquiries.

    Professional Qualifications ▪ Experience managing and creating budgets ▪ Fluent in English and Spanish ▪ Strong organizational and managerial skills ▪ Excellent intra and interpersonal skills ▪ Excellent time management skills ▪ Must work well under pressure and in fast paced environments

    Education and/or Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or university; or at least 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
