    Job Description

    The IoT and Controls Product Manager will develop the product strategy for the Bosch Thermotechnology Corp North American residential and commercial air-conditioning market, in the connectivity and Product Controls area. This role includes aspects of both hardware and software product management. The product manager will identify new opportunities and translate needs from users into new product concepts and ranges. This role will require close collaboration with engineering/R&D, development, marketing, sales, and suppliers. The IoT and Controls Product Manager will fully support life cycle product management through the Time-To-Market product development process. Results include, but are not limited to; mobile app specification writing, profit/loss calculations, marketing plans, sales & volume forecasting, development of new product pipeline, prioritization of feature backlogs, and other support metrics. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan, organize, and develop the product roadmap for IoT and Controls for Air Conditioning products in Bosch North America in alignment with corporate goals.
    • Gather and synthesize product requirements based on customer, market, and competitor insights and user data. Ensure these benefits are distinctively positioned to overcome real world customer (installers, distributors, sales reps and consumers) problems.
    • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, legal, marketing, manufacturing, customer support, operations, and external partners to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Work with product development teams (engineering, project management) to ensure app and hardware experiences are brought to market as specified.
    • Manage the product backlog and short-term feature roadmap, prioritize features based on customer/strategic requirements.
    • Define analytics requirements for SW and leverage analytics for the purpose of understanding aspects like adoption, performance, retention, feature usage, willingness to pay and more.
    • Provide market summaries including trends, competitive landscape and regulatory updates.
    • Actively participate in the new product development projects through the Time-To-Market process, including responsibility for writing product requirement specifications, and responsible to coordinate: pricing, industrial design, product information and training.
    • Thought leader for connected products within the broader organization.
    • Some domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS in Engineering or other Technical degree with 3+ years of experience in product management or product development roles.
    • 1+ years’ experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies to understand customer needs, ability to explore and structure customers’ insights into technical requirements.
    • 1+ years’ experience with Agile software development methodology and practices.
    • 1+ years’ product management experience working with Android/iOS app development.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background.
    • MS in Engineering or MBA are a plus.
    • HVAC product knowledge and/or consumer goods industry experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development, JIRA, SW programming
    • Proven expertise with User Experience (UX) Design and User Interface (UI) Design.
    • Driver for results, proven success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve successful results.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. Project management skills a plus.
    • Ability to plan, forecast, and analyze trends.
