  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • The Value Stream Manager will be responsible for leading a team of talented individuals that will focus on the topics of Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics Planning, Problem Solving and Process Optimization. 

    • Acquiring projects and maintaining a fruitful relation with customers are also responsibilities.

    • Responsible for contract development by working with customers and supporting C/TES-NA team members to determine the project scope and required results.

    • Single Commercial Business Contact to the customer: Responsible for the commercial contact with the customer mainly focused on contract development.

    • Face to the customer: Contact partner for internal/external customer in subjects related to the running project

    • Having the chance to work at external customers under the name “Bosch Industry Consulting” and increase own portfolio and knowledge

    • Will work internal part of the job intricately with plants and development departments from all divisions of Bosch.

    • Definition and Development of production concepts

    • Execution of Process Analysis and evaluation of the implementation options

    • Participate in or lead projects and workshops for DFMA and PFMEA, Value Stream Mapping, Flow Oriented Layout, Lean Line Design, 5S, Standardized Work, Quick changeover, Pull/Leveling, etc.

    • Develop new manufacturing (i.e. productivity increase) and provide the correct manufacturing documentation (i.e. Control Plans, PQI´s, Changeover procedures, etc.) for the implemented changes

    • High motivation to learn and develop him / herself professionally (trainings from project management to BPS provided, some with exams to be passed)

    • IDEAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT STEP (work over all divisions from automotive to household goods, work in international and interdisciplinary teams, gain huge network, learn from external customers without having to change the safe and people caring company Bosch, get huge own portfolio in tools and solutions to copy)

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Minimum 4-year technical degree (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering);

    • 3+ years shop floor experience in lean manufacturing operations (preferably Bosch Production System);

    • 3+ years of experience in Machinery/Equipment/Tooling definition and procurement (including structured acceptance);

    • 2+ Years of experience in leading direct reports, ideally as a former value stream manager;

    • Deep knowledge in several Manufacturing Processes and Assembly operations;

    • Project Management Knowledge and experience is required as each project is unique;

    • Working Knowledge of BPS (Bosch Production System) or similar lean manufacturing mindset (TPS – Toyota Production System)

    • Experience in OEE and OEE optimization projects focusing on quality, technical and organization losses.

    • Knowledge in the area of MTM, Machining, Lean-manufacturing and Lean-Logistics is preferable;

    • Problem Solving experience or basic knowledge required (5-Why, Shannon, Fish Bone, Etc.)

    • Active listener with strong interpersonal skills capable of promoting fruitful relationship and empathy with customers;

    • Target oriented with high persuasiveness, good communication skills, creativity and responsibility;

    • Ability to work well in teams as well as to work/act independently;

    • Analytical and structured working style;

    • Professional customer communication skills

    • Motivated to lead others in a project

    • ABILITY TO TRAVEL IS REQUIRED AND IS DEPENDENT ON THE LOCATION OF PROJECTS C/TES-NA SUPPORTS. THE MAJORITY OF TRAVEL WILL BE DOMESTIC AND TAKE PLACE DURING THE WORKWEEK WITH OCCASIONAL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES. (AS WORK LIFE BALANCE IS IMPORTANT FOR US: HIGH FLEXIBILITY IN SELF-MANAGEMENT REGARDING TIMING, OWN TRAVEL PLANNING, HOME OFFICE AS LONG AS THE CUSTOMER AGREES AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE PROJECT ACQUISITION PHASE IS LOGICAL)

    • Position will be located in Anderson, SC

    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of Spanish and German are preferred.
