    FACILITY ATTENDANT - BETHEL, ALASKA

    PART-TIME, 10-15 HRS/WK

     

    HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a FACILITY ATTENDANT at the Yukon Kuskokwim Fitness Center in Bethel, AK. The Facility Attendant is responsible for cleaning all areas of the facility including locker rooms, restrooms, exercise rooms, lobby, concessions and pool areas.  Facility attendant will be expected to report on inventory of cleaning supplies, to trouble shoot and report on maintenance issues and to assist Facility Management with other duties as needed. 

    _We are looking for reliable, responsible candidates for evening and weekend shifts. _

     

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

    • Must be able to follow basic instructions.
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail required.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands and complete work assignments.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
    • Ability to handle the physical demands of the position; will regularly use hands to finger, handle and/or feel; will need to talk and hear; will frequently be required to reach with hands and arms; the employee will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and spend very little time sitting; a great deal of stamina and strength is required to perform physical work to lift or push, objects, boxes and bins. Vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc.

  • Qualifications

     

    A cover letter is required for consideration.

     

    • Minimum of Masters degree (or the equivalent) in the field directly related to international education administration plus 5-8 years of experience in the field of immigration advising, international student advising, or closely related field.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residence required for federal certifications. This requires the completion of a CORI background check.
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex regulations of numerous federal agencies, and apply those regulations to specific academic, training, and employment situations.
    • Ability to accomplish complex, detailed work in a professional and timely manner, under federally mandated deadlines. Ability to supervise, coach, train, and mentor staff.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize own and others workload effectively, and to delegate work. Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students and scholars from many countries and cultures who have varied abilities in the English language. Ability to coordinate, coach, evaluates, motivate and reprimand professional advisors that help develop them as professionals, maintains team cohesion, and fosters an efficient and effective office.
    • Key supervisory skills include listening, empathy, and recognizing strengths and weaknesses in supervisees, and clarity in communicating performance successes and areas needing improvement.
    • Requires the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
    • Essential functions occur simultaneously, therefore, the employee must be able to appropriately handle each essential function, prioritize them and seek assistance when necessary.
    • These functions need to be performed on a consistent and regular basis, using good judgment. Ability to learn and apply Boston University policies consistently, seeking out guidance when necessary, is required.
