SALES SPECIALIST

OBJECTIVE

Provide support to the Sales team. Assists customers in the retail showroom. This position provides customer service via phone communications.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Store Manager/Supervisor Supervises: None

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales:

· First to assist walk-in Guests in the showroom with determining the proper mattress to meet their needs.

· Interact with Guests and Colleagues, in a friendly, professional, positive, and approachable manner.

· Enter Guest and Retail orders.

· Maintain appearance and inventory of the showroom.

· Track daily Guest visit count to the showroom and report monthly.

· Achieve Sales Certification.

Administrative:

· Conduct research projects as directed on mattress and accessory companies to share with Bowles Factory Direct.

· Maintain a neat and organized work area.

· Prepares correspondence, enters data entry and other clerical tasks as assigned.

Other:

· Attends Company meetings, as required, including monthly meeting in Jeffersonville from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

· Performs all other duties as assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to multi-task.

· Ability to work a varied shift including weekdays, evenings, and weekends on a rotating basis.

· Previous face-to-face sales experience is a plus.

· Ability to commute to both the Jeffersonville and Louisville retail store locations.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and frequent interruptions.
• Ability to maintain attention while communicating with others for considerable lengths of time.
• May need to lift up to 50 pounds and or carry product-related items.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

• This position involves working within a retail environment around general office equipment, including computers and workstations.
• Ability to work full time via a combination of hours Monday through Friday anytime between 10a-8p; Saturday 10a-7p and Sunday 12p-5p. Hours may vary based on business need but will include weekends.
• Will assist the public in a showroom environment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

• Associate degree or similar education preferred.
• At least one year of experience working in an retail environment.

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) software, Google applications and office equipment such as printer/copier/fax machine.

Bowles services customers within a 200-mile radius of our Jeffersonville factory and make hundreds of mattresses each week. In addition to residential bedding, we sell mattresses for use in hotels, university dormitories, and nursing homes. We also make custom specialty mattresses, including those for round beds, truck sleepers, waterbed replacements, hide-a-bed couches, and antique beds.
