    POSITION SUMMARY

    Under the direction of a Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT) software engineer, the SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN will support the development and testing of our next generation medical device in C# and WPF for windows applications by contributing to projects by working on the current systems software, tracing and testing requirements, and executing system tests.

     

    TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED

    Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within BMT.  They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products. 

    Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development in programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.

    Required Skills

    • Engineering student enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering Program focused on software or computer engineering.
    • Knowledge/experience with .NET programming
    • Basic knowledge/experience with Python programming language
    • Basic understanding of Agile development methodology
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Beginner technical writing and presentation skills
    • Beginner understanding of source code management systems like Git
    • Knowledge/experience developing GUI is a plus
    • Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, and Software Test Life Cycle
    • Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills

    PREFERRED

    • Knowledge/experience with C# programming
    • Understanding of development methodologies
    • Knowledge/experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and is a plus
    • Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, and Software Test Life Cycle
