Job Title: Executive Chef
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning, recipe development, food preparation, inventory and ensuring the highest level of food quality and presentation. The Executive Chef will also manage and train kitchen staff, adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, and collaborate with management to create a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute menus that are innovative, diverse, and aligned with our concept and brand.
2. Create and update recipes, ensuring they meet quality standards and cost targets.
3. Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
4. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
5. Monitor all food production areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
6. Collaborate with management to create and implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce food waste.
7. Regularly evaluate the quality of ingredients, making recommendations for improvement and sourcing opportunities.
8. Coordinate and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality ingredients.
9. Manage inventory and control costs, ensuring profitability and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
10. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following food safety and sanitation protocols.
11. Stay current with culinary trends, techniques, and industry best practices, and incorporate them into menu development and kitchen operations.
12. Participate in planning and executing special events, promotions, and catering activities.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume culinary establishment.
2. Extensive knowledge of diverse culinary techniques, cuisines, and ingredients.
3. Strong creativity in menu development, recipe creation, and food presentation.
4. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and direct kitchen staff.
5. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
8. Proficient in menu costing, inventory management, and controlling food costs.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
11. Culinary degree or equivalent training and certification preferred.
