The AM Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and early morning meals for hotel guests in accordance with the established menus and recipes. The ideal candidate should possess excellent culinary skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch, and other early morning meals based on the hotel’s menu offerings. • Ensure food is prepared to the highest standard and served in a timely manner. • Assist in the preparation of mise en place (ingredients and supplies) for daily service. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, cooking stations, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations. • Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products. • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and delivery of meals. • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients as needed. • Ensure that all food is properly garnished and plated for presentation. • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils, reporting any maintenance needs. • Keep the work area clean and sanitized at all times, including during and after service. • Participate in ongoing culinary training and development to stay updated on trends and techniques. • Handle special dietary requirements and guest requests professionally and efficiently. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting. • Excellent cooking and knife skills, with a focus on breakfast and brunch dishes. • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality. • Team-oriented with good communication skills. • Flexibility with work hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. • Culinary certification or degree is a plus. • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for long periods of time. • Ability to lift heavy items, up to 25-30 lbs. • Must be able to work under pressure and busy kitchen environment.
