    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Bridge Design Project Engineer to be part of AECOM's growing Bridge Design practice in Novi, MI.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

    • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

    • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

    • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

    • Identifies discrepancies in results.

    • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

    • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 10+ years' experience in bridge design
    • Experience working with bridge design and detailing on Michigan Department of Transportation projects
    • Experience with using Bentley MicroStation
    • A current Professional Engineer license in the state of Michigan
    • Experience with using LEAP Bridge Concrete Connect by Bentley
    • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
    • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
    • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools
    • Experience with MDX software for the design of steel beams
    • Experience with performing finite element analysis
    • Experience with designing earth retaining structures
    • Experience with bridge load rating
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
    • Experience with PTC Mathcad

    • Relocation is available for this position.
    • Offered rate of compensation (Novi, Michigan area only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $73,000.00 to $125,000.00.
