As a New Residential Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs and materials needed for construction projects within the residential sector. Your primary duties will include:
1. Collaborating with architects, purchasing, management and contractors to understand project requirements and specifications.
2. Analyzing blueprints and other project documentation to determine the scope of work and materials needed.
3. Estimating labor and material costs based on current market prices and supplier quotes.
4. Developing detailed cost estimates, purchase orders, and budgets for residential construction projects.
5. Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
6. Monitoring project progress and updating estimates as needed.
7. Maintaining accurate records of estimates and project documentation.
8. Keeping abreast of industry trends and cost factors to ensure competitive pricing.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. A degree in construction management or a related field is preferred, along with proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel and BuildPro.
