Job Description:
As a Host at Bruno's Pizza, you will be responsible for providing our customers with an exceptional dining experience by greeting and seating them, cleaning tables and ensuring that they have everything they need. To excel in this role, you must have excellent customer service skills, be able to work well under pressure and possess a friendly demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests as they enter the restaurant in a polite and professional manner.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to reduce wait times.
- Keep the dining area clean, tidy, and presentable in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer's questions, comments or concerns and report them to the senior management.
- Assist the team with any other tasks as required.
- Ensure that customers are served promptly and efficiently, taking into account their individual needs.
- Assist in maintaining the restaurant's inventory and ensuring that all food items are adequately stocked.
- Keep track of customer feedback and take action where necessary to improve the customer experience.
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure prompt food preparation and delivery.
- Monitor and document customer complaints, resolving them where possible.
- Maintain health and safety standards in the restaurant by ensuring that all staff members comply with regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of fresh ingredients for food preparation.
- Assist in training new employees and providing ongoing support to the team.
- Assist in menu planning and ensure that the restaurant offers a variety of dishes to suit all customers' needs.
- Ensure that customer service is at a consistently high standard throughout the shift.
- Monitor and manage operating costs to maximize profitability.
- Create operational reports and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven customer service experience in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- Neat and clean appearance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Possess basic math skills for cash handling.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations amp; procedures.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation standards.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Proven ability to deal with customer complaints or difficult situations in a professional manner.
