Builders Supply General Manager
Position Summary:
Responsible for overall day-to-day management of a branch location. Including operations, inventory control, personnel, health & safety, fleet operations, and profit/loss budget management.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage financial performance of branch location including budget, cost control, favorable margins, variances, improving efficiencies, and overall profit/loss.
Facilitating company core values – “leading by example”.
Collaboration with sales, purchasing, and senior leadership to develop inventory strategies to meet current and expected customer needs in the future.
Holding branch management and employees accountable for performance metrics.
Assist in developing budgets and marketing/sales plan.
Building and maintaining customer relationships with a variety of interactions, including but not limited to company sponsored events, face-to-face meetings, phone calls, site visits, check in calls, etc.
Assisting staff in resolution of customer service issues/complaints as needed.
Evaluating and modifying processes and procedures to utilize talent and resources in the most effective manner.
Assuring branch location is kept clean, orderly, and organized.
Monthly cycle and variance counts to assure year end inventory is within specifications.
All other duties as needed or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Formal Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or Finance.
Master’s degree (preferred)
Work Experience/Skills:
Direct experience in the Lumber / Construction industry.
7 years of experience in a leadership role.
Demonstrated record of success in budget management, sales, customer service, inventory control, and logistics.
Physical Demands:
Workers Supervised: Up to 25 employees
