  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Review of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents like drawings, Specifications (Specs), The Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), and Basis of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency.
    • Perform measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
    • Provide Prepare and develop Pre-Functional and Functional Testing forms in compliance with green building practices.
    • Collect data for energy conservation analyses, using jobsite observation, field inspections, or submetering.
    • Periodic visits to site for observation and acceptance of pre-Functional tests.
    • Inspect or monitor energy system, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to determine energy use or potential energy savings.
    • Carrying out Functional tests (FT) of MEP equipment on site to verify the proper installation of new or relocated HVAC equipment per green building practices.
    • Prepare energy-related project reports or related documentation.
    • Preparing documents like Current Facility Requirement (CFR)and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plan, Systems Manual, Ongoing Commissioning (Cx) plan, Cx summary report etc. Post FT
    • Post- Occupancy review at 10 months post occupancy
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Extensive knowledge of high-performance building technologies and strategies related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
    • Performed LL84, LL87, LL88 evaluations and reporting.
    • 7 years of experience in the building industry or environmental sciences.
    • Minimum requires bachelor’s degree major in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 2 years of training in Mechanical System, building design and Construction.
    • 5 years of familiarity with Commissioning Process as defined by ASHRAE Std 202 2018 and Guideline 0-2019.
    • Experience reviewing and analyzing complex design and construction documents.
    • Experience in equipment startup, Test & Balance, and Functional Testing.
    • Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
    • High technical ability including experience with Commissioning computer software, Bluebean, Procore, Building Management Systems, and Microsoft Office. Ability using infrared thermometer and light meter.
    • Ability and initiative to manage own schedule and work from home.
    • Experience in Retro-Commissioning for existing buildings (preferred).
    • Experience in MEP/renewable energy design, evaluation, construction, building operations, testing and/or verification (preferred).
    • Licensed PE, CxA, LEED AP Green Associate or LEED AP specialty credential (preferred).

    Salary Range: $90,000-110,000 Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, location, and other relevant metrics.
