    Job Description

    AECOM is currently seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant to support our Program Management and Building Commissioning services.

    This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

    • Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering
    • Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches
    • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience
    • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
    • Preparation of project deliverables, including but not limited to proposals, analysis results, repair alternates, construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports
    • On-site investigation, condition assessments, and construction observations, which may include surveying, documenting distress, performance evaluation and field testing, collecting data and samples, and preparing site visit reports
    • Undertake consulting on facade design, detailing and analysis, and participate in testing, fabrication and construction administration
    • Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability
    • Well versed in exterior wall construction project phases including but not limited to shop drawing, modeling, design development and construction documents
    • Document and maintain technical written reports on project related activity
    • Advise management on related project performance\key issues, status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion
    • Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job-related management teams Produce details via hand sketching and using 2D and 3D CAD packages as required
    • Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
    • Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS in Architecture or Engineering + 8 years of related experience of facade design consulting or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Requirements

    • 10 years in the industry, including significant technical experience in architectural detailing of building enclosure, roofing, and waterproofing components and assemblies, particularly the interface of different assemblies or components
    • Experience providing building enclosure commissioning
    • Register Architect or Licensed Engineer
    • IIBEC Certification
